Crowns and Bridges Treatments

Where there is extensive tooth loss or root-treated teeth, strong aesthetically pleasing crowns will be
required. This will envelop the whole remaining tooth structure to re-establish function and aesthetics. There
are different types of crowns depending on each individual’s needs and preferences.

Where there are missing teeth, they will be replaced with three possible options:

• Implants
• Bridges
• Dentures

Implants are titanium screws that are placed in the bone where the missing tooth used to be. On top of which will be a natural-looking crown/tooth.

There are two types of bridges which can be used, which are: the Maryland bridge and the dental supportive bridge. The Maryland bridge does not require tooth removal or preparation, whereas the dental supportive bridge requires extensive tooth preparation and loss.

Dentures are tissue-supportive prosthesis, which are made of gum-coloured, flexible acrylic which supports the missing tooth. There is no tooth preparation needed.
